Hannah
is always hungry… until she is given a magic porridge pot. But what happens
when the pot falls into the wrong hands? (Back Cover)
This story is about hungry Hannah, an old
woman, a greedy boy, a magic pot and a lot of porridge. Frist, I don’t know
porridge, so I look up a word in a dictionary. It is food such as rice porridge
saying in Japan. Hannah has never had enough to eat, but she always shared it
when she had something. So, she is very kind to everything. One day, she found
some honey in the forest, and then a woman came here who was carrying an empty
pot. Hannah shared honey to the woman and woman asked her “Would you like some
porridge?” She said “I love it.” but the pot was empty.
When Hannah wondered about it, the woman has begun to recite magic words. And then
hot porridge filled the pot. It was magic pot!! So she always had plenty to
eat, but one evening, a greedy boy saw the pot start to fill with porridge, and
he stole the pot from her home. He used it at once, but the pot didn’t stop
because he didn’t know the stop magic words. So, Hannah went to his home and
she recited the stop magic words at last. Hannah is very kind to everybody. I felt
the importance of being gentle to a person all over again. Also, illustrate of
this book is good, so it was easy to read.
