Hello everyone! My name is Tomoka. Please call me Tomoka. I’m happy that I will be able to stay at your home. I’m from Kumamoto, Japan. I was born and grew up in Kumamoto. I’m nineteen years old. I’m student at the KGU. I major in English, but I am not very good at English. However I’m going to try to communicate with you as much as I can. I’m a little bit nervous as well as being excited because I have never been overseas. However I’m looking forward to studying native English and feeling American culture. I have a younger brother. My birthday is in September. So, I like autumn the best of all the seasons. My favorite foods are cheesecake and pasta and salad. I have no allergies, but I’m not much of a beans eater. I always have a stomachache. Also, I’m given to worrying, but I like talking with everyone. So, I hope that everyone talks me. My specialty is calligraphy, because I had learned it for six years since I was an elementary school student. I can play the flute a little and the piano, too. My hobbies are listening to music and go my shopping. So, I would like to go to the Mall of America and listen to American music. Also, I would like to go to the famous places in Minnesota. Next, I will talk about my home town. Kumamoto is in the south of Japan. There are many beautiful places to see the ocean and nature in kumamoto. In the sea, we can see many dolphins. Also, we can see cherry blossoms in the spring. It is very beautiful. The Kumamoto Castel is the most famous building in Kumamoto. It was built by Kiyomasa Kato in 1607. He is a famous historical figure. Also, this is one of the famous castles in Japan. I would like to know about Minnesota, so please teach me about it. I’m looking forward to seeing you. Why are you interested in English?

I have been interested in English since I was a junior high school student. But I was not interested in American movies and songs then, because I could not speak English and understand it. Of course, I little understand English until now. But, I became understand English little by little than the past. One day, I found that learning English is interesting for me. Also, I can know many cultures of countries by learning English. There gave me many important things. So, I chose this course. Now, I became listening to American music and watch American movies. I want to speak English fluently someday. So, I study English very hard. Also, I think that I want to go to America during student.

The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse

＜Introduction＞

  Toby is the town mouse. The other is the country mouse. His name is Pipin. They live comfortable each of sweet home. One day, Toby visited Pipin’s home, but they uncomfortable for Toby. So, he suggested Pipin to go his home. Next, they rode on a train. At last, they arrived at Toby’s home, but his home uncomfortable for Pipin. After all, they found that they love each sweet home.

 

<Impression>

  There are a lot of thrilling scenes in this story, because they were run after by cat and in real world danger for animals, too. Also, there are onomatopoeia in this story. For example, “atishoo”, “hic”… I could find onomatopoeia of Japanese is different from onomatopoeia of English. So, this story is very interesting!! The last, I became warm heart.

The hare name is Harry and the tortoise name is Tom. Harry loves running more than anything in the world. One day, Harry suggested a race to Tom. Everybody thought that Harry won this race, because Harry has been trained all the time. By the way, which animals do you think won this race?

 

 ＜Impression＞

    I have known this story since I was elementary school, because this story is very famous in Japan. I think that I learn a lesson from this story. It is that I do my best in everything. So, I want to challenge as hard as in everything. Also, an illustration is very cute! So, I want everyone to read this book.

HENRY AND MUDGE AND THE Starry Night

＜Introduction＞

  Henry and Mudge go camping with Henry’s parents. They saw raccoons and waterfalls and rainbow. Henry’s mother knows all about camping. Henry’s father doesn’t know anything about camping, but he just came with a guitar and a smile. They lay on their backs and looked at many stars. This day was perfect day for their. So, they  dreamed wonderful green dreams.

＜Impression＞

  This story made me happy, because its content was story about good family. Good point of this family is cooperate with them part. So, I think they could fun that day. Mudge is very cute! This book is easy to understand.Also, I could imagine this scene. I want to go camping too.

＜Introduction＞

Nicky’s mom has made lots of beef stew. He wants to invite him friends to supper. But He rejected him invitation by all. Who will join them?

＜Impression＞

    This book can understand to easy. So, I could read it in no time. Nicky called out to him friends, for example, friend of school and teacher etc…  But he rejected him invitation by all. I thought that why was he rejected by all.  When he give a post card from him grandmother, he seem to very happy. I thought very well too. Also, that day’s supper was good time for him. I got eat a beef stew too.

Healthy

I’m healthy

         I have been keeping my health since I was in child because I don’t have so many like and dislike in food. I can eat vegetables, fish and meats. There are two other reasons. First, I do a stretch at night three times in a week. Second, I went to and from as a high school by bicycle for three years. It is six kilometers from my house to my high school. It took forty minutes by bicycle. So, I was very tired when I got home. Therefore, I liked eating sweets after school. So, I am careful about my eating habit now and don’t eat sweets than before. Consequently, I think that I’m healthy.
