BR:1-12 Columbus and the New World

Christopher Columbus lived in Europe in the Europe in the 1400s. He wanted to find a new way to travel from Europe to Asia by sea. So Columbus went on a long sea trip, but he didn’t know what he would find. What happened to Columbus? What did he find? (Back Cover)

Do you know about Columbus? I didn’t know a little about him and I knew only that he found America. He was born in Italy in 1451 and at that time, a lot of people in the world thought that the earth was flat. However, many educated Europeans realized that the earth was indeed round. By the way, there are several reasons why he decided to find new way. It was a new sea route from Europe to Asia because at the time Europeans wanted spices from India and China, but it cost too much money to carry these products from the East using the traditional land and sea route. So, he left Europe for a new way in 1492. And a sailor on the Pinta cried out on October 12, 1492 so he could see land. It land was America. I think that he had courage and was very bravery. This story is very interesting.
